⚠️ Safety First

Turn OFF power to the lighting circuit at the breaker panel before beginning any work.
Use a non-contact voltage tester to ensure power is off at the fixture.

🛠️ Instructions by Ballast Type
🔄 For Magnetic Ballast (Figure A ➝ A1):

  • Steps to Disconnect & Rewire:
  • Remove the fluorescent tube.
  • Remove the starter (marked "S" in the diagram).
  • Leave the magnetic ballast in place (optional), or bypass it by disconnecting the ballast wires.

Connect the Line (L) to one end of the tube holder (tombstone).
Connect the Neutral (N) to the opposite end tombstone.
Ensure the LED tube is double-end powered — L and N go to opposite ends.

✅ You may bypass the ballast entirely for better energy savings and reliability, even though some T5 LEDs tolerate magnetic ballasts.

🔄 For Electronic Ballast (Figure B ➝ B1):
Steps to Disconnect & Rewire:

  • Remove the fluorescent tube.
  • Completely disconnect and remove the electronic ballast from the circuit.
  • Connect the Line (L) to one tombstone (lamp holder) at one end.
  • Connect the Neutral (N) to the opposite tombstone at the other end.
  • Ensure tombstones are non-shunted or rewired to separate L and N paths.

⚠️ Do not use LED tubes with electronic ballasts still in place — risk of short circuit or failure.

🔌 Double-End Input Wiring Overview

  • One end of the LED tube receives Line (L)
  • Opposite end receives Neutral (N)
  • Make sure connections are secure, and cap off unused wires
  • Install tube only after all wiring is verified

🧪 Final Steps

  • Re-check connections.
  • Restore power at the breaker.
  • Test the new LED tubes.
